Amid the city lights and daily bustle, the spirit of green quietly seeps into every corner of life. The sky over Greater Jakarta seemed to join in celebration as Maybank Indonesia and Pelangi Eka Nusa launched a new chapter, The Next Chapter Negeri di Awan: Green Literacy, during Global CR Day 2025 and Cahaya Kasih. This collaboration was not just a ceremony, but a real movement to cultivate environmental awareness through the power of reading, creativity, and shared knowledge across generations.
The wave of green literacy will spread simultaneously across six inspiring locations: Mat Peci in Cikoko, South Jakarta; Teras Ciliwung in Condet, East Jakarta; Kelompok Tani Lestari Alam Melati in Jatiasih, Bekasi; Komunitas Ciliwung Depok in Pancoran Mas; Saung Alkesa in Kedung Halang, North Bogor; and Wonder Play Hut in Tajur Halang, Bogor Regency. Each site would became a living classroom where children, volunteers, and residents planted trees, managed organic waste, and expressed their love for the Earth through writing and art. From small hands and big hearts, seeds of hope blossomed, proving that literacy can both heal and nurture nature.
The launch of Green Literacy reaffirmed the commitment of Maybank and Pelangi Eka Nusa to nurture a generation that guards the Earth with knowledge and empathy. More than reading or planting activities, this program is a shared journey to write a greener future, page by page. From Jakarta to Bekasi to Bogor, The Next Chapter Negeri di Awan becomes a collective story of people, nature, and hope, united in one color: the green of life.
