The compost and leachate-making training was held at the Utama Komposter Education House in Kampung Proklim Sunter Jaya, North Jakarta. This activity marked the opening of the Green Literacy program, a collaboration between Maybank and Pelangi Eka Nusa. The program continues the journey of Literasi Negeri di Awan, which concluded in September 2025.
The training was mentored by Pun Sutarno (56), a former teacher who founded Utama Komposter over a decade ago as a community-based organic waste learning space. Participants, consisting of community representatives and representatives of Maybank entities, took part in hands-on compost and leachate processing sessions. They also visited the vertical garden, snail cultivation area, and compost and leachate management facilities at the education house.
The Green Literacy program will be implemented with six community partners across Greater Jakarta, including Komunitas Baca Ciliwung–Teras Ciliwung in East Jakarta; Serambi Baca in Jatiasih, Bekasi; Taman Baca Kunang-Kunang in Sukmajaya, Depok; Komunitas Ciliwung Depok in Pancoran Mas; Wonder Play Hut in Tajurhalang, Bogor Regency; and Sagatan Forest in Jonggol, Bogor Regency. Representatives of Maybank entities will participate as volunteers, providing regular support at each location. The program concluded with a visit to Lovely Hand, a gardening therapy space for children with special needs, supported by Utama Komposter.
