That day, Teras Ciliwung was alive with hands that planted not only trees, but also hope. Together with PT Prasadha Pamunah Limbah Industri (PPLI), Indonesia Care, Aliansi Jurnalis Peduli Lingkungan Indonesia (AJPLI), Squad Penanggulangan Bencana Indonesia (PBI), Human Initiative, and Komunitas Baca Ciliwung (KBC), we planted 40 fruit trees along the Ciliwung River Basin—letting the roots of kindness grow in soil that was once too often forgotten. There were guavas, mangoes, and starfruit—future shade, soil binders, and sweet chapters to come.

Planting wasn’t the end of the story, we stepped into the stream: lifting trash, clearing weeds, and giving the river a breath of fresh air. Between sweat and laughter bloomed a spontaneous space called Ngopling—short for “Ngobrol Peduli Lingkungan” or “Talking for the Environment,” a warm and thoughtful forum born on the spot. There, river issues were more than just complaints—they became small plans, doable by anyone.

This may have been a simple act, but its impact rippled outward like water—reaching, touching, moving. Because we believe that big changes don’t always come from megaphones or big stages—sometimes they start with one spade in the soil, one trash bag lifted, one heartfelt conversation by the riverbank. And from there, may a new generation grow—not just to read the river, but to protect it.
